Bright Futures is a national education and training project aiming to reduce and prevent child sexual abuse.

Join us for the second FREE Bright Futures webinar for 2024 presented by Dr Kjersti Draugedalen, Associate Professor Lesley-Anne Ey and Tim Wong.

The webinar will give an overview of a newly started R&D innovation project in Norway. Through a public health approach to prevention, the project will explore whether focus on comprehensive sexuality education, youth participation, and enhanced interdisciplinary cooperation between schools and services can strengthen teachers’ safeguarding of children and young people in schools.

About the presenters

Dr Kjersti Draugedalen

University of South-Eastern Norway

Dr Draugedalen has a master’s degree in Multicultural and International Education and Advanced Studies in Sexual Abuse. She is also the project leader in the Norway-based research and development innovation project with the University of South-Eastern Norway.

Tim Wong

Psychologist

 

Psychologist Tim Wong has worked with principals, staff, parents and students in schools for more than 30 years. Currently the Child Safe Lead at Catholic Education Western Australia, Tim has been working to improve cultures and ensure safe and supportive practices at schools for decades. 

Associate Professor Lesley-Anne Ey

University of South Australia

Associate Professor Lesley-Anne Ey is a national leader in the field of harmful sexual behaviours in educational settings. Her research in the past decade has explored children's HSB in educational settings with the aim to support teachers to recognise and respond effectively. She sits on the National Clinical Reference Group for HSB as the expert in education.
